Twitter Reactions: Stuart Binny escapes from becoming the Stuart Broad of Miami
History beckoned both the teams when India and West Indies stood in the middle of the Central Broward Regional Park for their respective national anthems. It was a historic moment especially for the Indians as they ventured into the uncharted territories of the United States of America. The large Indian diaspora and the Asian population was eagerly waiting to see their cricketing superstars in action.
The excitement soared when MS Dhoni won the toss and put West Indies to bat first. The team looked happy till and highly excited about bowling on the American soil. But, unfortunately, it was only a matter of few balls before the West Indian openers Evin Lewis and Johnston Charles wiped off the smile off their faces.
They batted with a fury which was never seen before and went on to pummel the Indian bowling attack mercilessly. The hundred run mark was breached before the end of 8th over. Mahi had used up almost all his bowling resources by now and found no respite. With no option left, he turned to Stuart Binny with a hope of turning things around.
But, this decision turned out to be horrific as Binny only added to the misery after he was brutally smashed for 32 runs in a over including 5 consecutive sixes sprayed all over the park. The five sixes were scattered across six balls with one ball being a wide delivery.
The over began with Lewis welcoming the medium pacer with a six over the deep mid-wicket. The second ball was hit over the sight screen. Binny had completely lost his plot by now and followed it up with a wide. This made no difference as Lewis struck the next ball, a low full toss, for another maximum in the long off region.
Binny then tried to change his pace but only to get thumped over the point region for another one. It became five in five for him after the 5th ball of the over was smacked into the car parking. It was an embarrassing sight for the Indians. Luckily for Binny, a somewhat tired looking Lewis mis-hit the next delivery and failed to equal the record for six sixes in an over.
This onslaught made the twitter go wild with everyone jumping to troll Stuart Binny. The all-rounder has been a subject for trolls many times but this was perhaps should the most brutal one.
