Twitter Reactions: Triple centurion Azhar Ali puts Pakistan in command on day 2

The hapless West Indies bowlers found absolutely no answer to Azhar Ali. He took the charge right from the first session resuming from his overnight score of 146 on day 2. Asad Shafiq looked in a good touch too. The wicket provided absolutely no assistance to the bowlers. The pink ball wasn’t moving much either. All this combined to add to the woes of West Indies bowling.
Ali continued to play unperturbed despite losing Shafiq soon after the first session. Shafiq was caught and bowled by Devendra Bishoo on 67. Ali was joined by Babar Azam in the middle. Pakistan went into Tea on Day 2 at 391/2. Ali brought up his double century soon after the Tea break. Babar Azam making his debut looked pretty comfortable as well. Azam, who came into the match riding on 3 consecutive centuries, compiled a fifty.
He was caught in the covers after scoring 69. Devendra Bishoo was the beneficiary yet again. Since then it was all Pakistan show. Azhar Ali moved to his 250 in style with a six. He set his foot on the accelerator as Pakistan’s score went well past the 500-run mark. A marathon innings was on the cards. Ali became the 29th player in the history of the game to score a triple century in Tests.
He also became the 4th Pakistani player to achieve the coveted milestone. The other three Pakistan players who have scored triple centuries are Hanif Mohammad, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. Pakistan declared their innings soon after Ali reached his triple ton. Pakistan declared on 579/3 after batting for just over 155 overs.
West Indies batsmen seemed to be batting on a different track altogether. They struggled to get their feet going and lost their opener, Leon Johnson cheaply. West Indies ended the day at 69/1 as Pakistan hold a big lead of510 runs kudos to Azhar Ali.
