The broadcasters of the India v New Zealand Test series have decided to have multilingual commentary one in English for the international audience and in Hindi for the people across India. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag along with left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan are a part of the commentary team.
Ever since he retired, Sehwag has gained a lot of fans on social media platforms especially Twitter for his witty, cheeky and entertaining tweets. And when the cricketer held the microphone during the 3rd Test between India and New Zealand at Indore, his fans absolutely fell in love with some of the lines he used.
Viru’s style of commentary is to use funny and punny anecdotes which might sound out of context but he manages to pull off a relation which actually has a touch of humor in it. Like his batting, Sehwag also has his own unique characteristic in commentary and has definitely become a fan favorite if the tweets that poured in during the 1st day’s play are anything to go by.
Some of his best lines mentioned by Twitter users were –
“Cheteshwar Pujara ki batting dadi maa ki kahani jaisi hai jo khatam hi nahi hoti” which roughly translates to Pujara’s batting is like grandma’s story it never really ends.

“Jo maza sone me hai wo duniya ke kisi kone me nahi” – The delight that one gets from sleeping is not comparable to travelling to any part of the world.
“Chai mein pada hua Biscuit..
Pyaar mein pada hua Ladka..
aur
Pressure mein pada hua
Batsman..
Kisi kaam ka nahi hota..”
– A biscuit that drowned in the tea, a guy who is in love and a batsman who is under pressure is of no use.
Here are some of the reactions Sehwag fans posted on Twitter:
