Twitter rewinds to the time when MS Dhoni trolled Sir Ravindra Jadeja
Team India’s rockstar Ravindra Jadeja will be partying hard today, celebrating his 28th birthday. The spin bowling all-rounder, one of the key players in the Indian setup, is one of the most loved cricketers in India. The love doses from fans provided to him, however, are in the form of trolls and sarcasm. Jadeja enjoys huge popularity in the social media space. His popularity is such that he is more often referred to as ‘Sir’ Jadeja. He is, in fact, the only cricketer ever to have received this prefix without any knighthood (pun intended).
It was a few years back when the trend began. Memes related to him were flooded on the web and everyone was having a great time making fun of him. Jaddu did not mind and would often join the fun himself. Everyone from commoners to his own team members shared one or the other joke and it became a huge trend
But, amusement and mockery doubled when Skipper MS Dhoni himself came in and cracked a string of jokes on him. Jadeja and MS Dhoni share a special bond and apart from playing for India, the two also were a part of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League as well. But, the calm and cool Dhoni could stop himself from taking a shot at the Jaddu.
After making his international debut in 2009, Ravindra Jadeja now happens to be one part of the dominant two-man spin attack featuring Ravichandran Ashwin which has single handedly won India many matches across the three format. His career has been successful so far and has featured for India in 126 ODIs and 23 Tests.
Jadeja also holds a special record in domestic cricket – for being the only Indian cricketer to hit three triple centuries. The super record puts in an illustrious list of players which also the name of Sir Don Bradman among others legends. We can ridicule him for fun as much as we can but Jadeja is truly a special cricketer and more importantly a special personality.
