Twitter sends love as Virat Kohli hugs Rohit Sharma while celebrating Jonny Bairstow's dismissal
Kohli and Sharma hugged as Bairstow went back after a successful DRS.
India is currently up against England on the final day of the Lord’s Test and seems a bit hopeful to pull on the match in their account. After a stunning ninth-wicket partnership by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, India declared their innings and invited the hosts to take up with their willows. While England were batting, a moment between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma grabbed all the attention on the internet.
While the top order was already removed by the Indian pacers, the only fish that could have troubled India much was Joe Root. However, he was sent back early by Jasprit Bumrah wherein the catch was taken by Virat Kohli. Before that Jonny Bairstow was removed by Ishant Sharma where a DRS initiated by Kohli turned the result in favour of India and Kohli hugged Sharma in the most adorable manner.
It has to be noted that there have been quite a few incidents that have hinted at a rift between the two great batsmen. Both of them have also acted indifferently on topics pertaining to each other. Where there have been enough talks on this matter, a warm hug by both of them must have silenced many of their fans.
Here is how Twitter reacted to a hug by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Talking about the match currently, England are playing with their five wickets down. Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali are on the crease trying to make it respectable for England on the ultimate day of the Lord’s Test. While India’s tailenders flaunted a great show, many big names criticized England for their poor tactics and the captaincy of Joe Root.
It remains to be seen if India can pull off the match from this point. India have been struggling to get going in England for a long and last won the series on English soil in 2007. Rahul Dravid flaunted the masterclass for India during that series. As the Trent Bridge Test has already resulted in a draw, it remains to be seen if any of the teams can take up 1-0 notch after the Lord’s Test.
