Twitter trolls Sanjay Manjrekar for calling Shivam Dube ‘handsome’
Dube was picked by RCB at INR 5 crores.
Shivam Dube doesn’t have a whole lot of experience in the Indian domestic circuit, but he has already managed to capture the imaginations of the supporters as well as the selectors. He was severe on leg-spinner Pravin Tambe in the inaugural Mumbai T20 League at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He made his List A debut in 2017 and later that year, forayed into first-class cricket.
He is a pace-bowling all-rounder and is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. He has played five matches thus far in the tournament and has churned out 489 runs at an incredible average of 69.85. He has already scored a couple of centuries against Railways and Gujarat. The 25-year-old has been equally effective with the ball in hand, having picked up 17 wickets in the event.
Manjrekar comments for Dube
His best bowling figures of 7/53 came against Karnataka in Belgavi. The superlative shows brought him into the limelight and he was listed in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) auction at a base price of INR 20 lakhs. As many as three teams- Delhi Capitals (DCS), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) entered into a bidding war for the all-rounder.
Eventually, it was RCB, who bagged his services at a whopping price of INR 5 crore. In the meantime, the cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar remarked that albeit Dube’s credentials will be known during the IPL, there’s no doubt in the fact that he is the most ‘handsome’ player in the T20 extravaganza.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Time will tell if Shivam Dubey becomes an IPL star or not, but he is already one of the most handsome players in the IPL,”

However, the words didn’t go down with the users on Twitter by any stretch of the imagination. Subsequently, they trolled him left-right and centre.
