Twitter wants Kevin Pietersen to play for England once again after his performances in Road Safety World Series
On a lighter note, England can surely think of asking Pietersen to wear the England jersey once again in the T20I series against Virat Kohli’s men.
Kevin Pietersen is a legend of England cricket, and there is absolutely no doubting that. The batting icon is currently involved in the Road Safety World Series tournament in Raipur. The tournament is one where all the retired cricketing legends participate in order to raise awareness about Road Safety.
And, Pietersen has been plying his trade for the England Legends. In both the matches that he has played this year in the tournament, the batting gladiator has been in surreal form. In the game against the Bangladesh Legends, Pietersen blasted a 17 ball 42. His innings consisted of 7 fours and a six, and his knock helped the England Legends trounce the opposition by 7 wickets.
In the encounter against the India Legends side on Tuesday, Pietersen continued his blazing form. The right-hander scored 75 off just 37 balls to help the England Legends win a humdinger of a clash by just 6 runs.
Several fans shower praise on Kevin Pietersen
Now, after his incredible show with the bat, the cricketing world has showered praises on Pietersen. While some opined that he is still fit and can straight away be drafted into the England T20 squad for the first T20I against the Indian side, some others were of the opinion that he was the ‘greatest’ among all the legends.
Some other fans saluted the former England batsman as one of the finest strikers of the ball, and others even sensationally stated that he will perform much better than any of the current England openers.
Pietersen will easily go down as the most gifted batsman that the England side has produced. And, the right-handed batting icon generated incredible numbers with the bat in hand for his country. He scored 8181 runs in Test match cricket, and also plundered 23 hundreds and 35 fifties as well. He also amassed 4440 runs in ODI cricket.
