Twitterati make memes out of Rohit Sharma's viral Instagram post ahead of India's fourth Test against England
Rohit's post was on the talks surrounding the nature of pitches in the ongoing Test series.
Social media is a fun place for people who have been looking for memes or producing them. Indian opener Rohit Sharma recently posted a picture of himself on Instagram, which has now turned into a meme and people are sharing the picture everywhere on Twitter. Several people have used this picture for making memes.
The veteran has been in the news for the past few weeks. Coming into the second Test against England, there were questions over his batting form, but the Mumbai batsman put all the discussions to rest. He smashed a 161 on a raging turner in Chennai. On a pitch where batsmen were struggling to find their timing, Sharma played a match-defining knock.
In the third Test, a similar thing happened. Most of the batsmen struggle to tackle the spin on the turning wicket. Rohit once again stepped up and played a knock of 66 runs, which turned out to be crucial because he was the only Indian batsman to cross fifty. He scored an unbeaten 25 in the second innings, where India was chasing a small total of 48 runs.
“Mujhe kab captain banayenge yeh log”, a fan gives a funny caption to Rohit Sharma’s viral post
After the match, there were a lot of discussions regarding the pitch. The third Test ended in just a little over five sessions and experts started questioning if the pitch in Ahmedabad was good enough for Test cricket. In between all of that, Sharma posted a picture of himself on Instagram, where he can be seen lying down on his face on the ground.
The caption of the image was interesting as he wrote, “Wondering what the pitch would be like for the 4th test.” After the third Test, Sharma had said in the press conference that he thought there wasn’t any demon on the pitch and the batsmen had an indifferent technique because of which they couldn’t tackle the challenges of playing on a turning track.
The picture which Sharma uploaded became a viral sensation on social media. But, Twitterati made the perfect use of it, by turning it into a meme. One of the memes saw Rohit’s edited picture on the poster of the famous Bollywood movie, Taare Zameen Par. In another meme, the picture was used on a snapshot of a scene from the comedy movie, Golmaal.
