Two Indian cricketers to be part of World XI in a charity game against Windies at Lord's

World Xi already consists of 8 Asian cricketers now.

The Home of Cricket Lords is all set to host the charity game between World XI and Windies on May 31 in order to raise the funds for the Stadiums in the Carribean which were damaged by last year’s hurricanes. While Cricket West Indies (CWI) has already announced their squad for the iconic clash, the World XI slowly being confirmed. The likes of Shahid Afridi, Shakib Al Hasan among four other Asian cricketers have already been confirmed for the clash. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik are the latest to add to the list.

The cricketers from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are the part of this team as Eoin Morgan i set to lead the strong side. Moreover, the addition of the two explosive Indian cricketers has strengthened the team a lot to give a tough to fight to the World Champions in the shortest format of the game. The encounter is expected to be a huumdinger with T20 superstars set to clash.

BCCI to allow?

According to the reports in Hindustan Times, both, Dinesh and Hardik, have agreed to feature in the game which has been scheduled for the social cause. Though it is not confirmed yet by ICC as they have done earlier for the other cricketers. All of them were honoured to be picked in the World XI for the marquee clash and felt that it was time to give it back to Windies Cricket. They also felt that the game would help the youngsters in the Caribbean nation to pursue their dreams again.

“I urge all cricket fans and supporters to join hands with the match organisers and the players in making 31 May a hugely successful day so that the funds raised from this match can be reinvested into cricket that, in turn, will not only bring the smiles back on the faces of local cricket supporters but will also lead to the resumption of cricket activities in those regions,” Rashid Khan had said after being picked for the game.
