The BCCI reportedly spends approximately 2.85 Lakhs on match fees for umpires, match referees, video analysts and scores on a daily basis. The costs incurred include even the umpires in the emerging panel within the domestic circuit as well as equipment for the video analysts. This data has been retrieved from the official BCCI Facebook page.

The umpire fees for ODIs and T20Is include international umpires, third umpires and fourth umpires. For the on-field umpires, approximately Rs. 182,500 is spent on a daily basis. The identical amount of money is spent on the third umpire. The fourth umpire receives a payout of Rs. 40,000 per match. The on-field umpires receive the same amount of money for a Test match per day. The third umpire receives Rs. 300,000 per Test match. The fourth umpire receives one-third of the amount received by the third umpire per Test match.

The BCCI has a different fee structure for the domestic circuit. In a bid to encourage umpiring in the country, the board sets aside Rs. 20,000 per day for the umpires in the emerging panel. An additional amount of Rs. 15,000 is set aside in the ‘other’ category. This category reportedly includes the match referees, the umpiring uniforms and other umpiring equipment. The match referees receive a payout of Rs. 15,000 per day.

In a bid to improve the technicality of playing and umpiring, a video analyst is usually employed. Rs. 7,500 is spent on a daily basis by the BCCI for Video analysts while the assistant video analysts receive Rs. 3,000 per day. Rs. 5,000 per day is set aside for the official scorers employed by the BCCI.
