Electrifying atmosphere, loud music, cheer leaders and sixes. If ODI cricket is the mid-day meal and Test Cricket is the all important dinner, then T20 is the perfect catch away breakfast with the perfect amount of spice in it. From hitting one back to the commentator box to uprooting the middle timber, from flying spectacular catches to bulls eye throws, T20 is the current fever which the world is talking about. Let’s check out the 10 Unbreakable T20 records – Break them if you can 1. Ishwar Pandey, the leading wicket taker in Ranji trophy that season, clearly remembers his first over of the innings which got hammered for 21 runs. Finch, Mitchell Marsh and Ali Murtaza followed the trend, as Gayle galloped to a 175* off 66 balls. He smashed 17 maximums and 13 fours, while quenching his thirst. Gayle brought up his fifty facing 17 balls, while reached the next milestone in another 13 balls. RCB posted 263 runs on the board, as the Calypso King carried his bat to a world record. 2. The first ball took sharp turn, back of a length through to the keeper. The second delivery was quite similar, this time pitching a little outside leg, sharp turn and a miss. With 12 to win from 4 balls, the batsman missed the length of the ball in the next two deliveries, as he pressed the panic button on the fifth ball, getting out at long off. Ross Taylor came in next, but the damage was done. He tried a wild one, got beaten completely, as the Guyana Amazon Warriors scripted a fairytale win. 3. The Calypso King’s wagon wheel took turns all around the corner, as he smashed 102 runs only in sixes. The innings break was postponed by some time as the ball boys were busy collecting the balls, that were hit for sixes. Most of the bowlers went over 15 runs per over, as Gayle lifted the home team to 263. Numerous records were made including fastest fifty off 30 balls, as the Gayle storm hit the Chinnaswamy in style. 4. Ahmed Shehzad’s most boundaries in an innings – 20: Ahmed Shehzad. (Photo Source: AFP) This talented Pakistani opener is known for his hard hitting batting. Apart from hitting big ones, he is well known for finding the gaps. Having cemented his place in the national squad, Ahmed has been a vital cog in the Pakistani batting line up. In this particular innings against the Stags at Lahore in a domestic T20 Tournament, he scored a century in just 57 balls scoring 20 boundaries and a six. He holds the world record of scoring most number of boundaries in an innings. 5. Yuvraj Singh’s fastest T20I half century – 12 balls: Yuvraj Singh. (© Getty Images) That Durban night will be remembered for the historic 6,6,6,6,6,6. Flintoff’s words didn’t please the dashing Indian batsman, as Stuart Broad had to bear the brunt. Coming in the middle order, Yuvi straight away sent the Englishmen into leather hunt. He made it fair for the spectators by sending the kookaburra to all parts of the ground. He smashed one through the leg and followed it up with one on the off. Ravi Shastri was loud enough as the crowd went wild, Yuvraj Singh celebrated his six sixes in style, as he notched up his half century in just 12 balls. Kenya had to face the wrath of Jayasuriya & Co. as both the teams faced each other in the T20I encounter at Johannesburg. Kenya won the toss and elected to field, and as they say the rest is history. Jayasuriya batted with a strike rate of 200, as he struck some mighty blows on his way to 88. Jayawardene played the perfect partner, as he scored a fluent 65 off 27 balls. Apart from Odoyo, all the bowlers were expensive, as Kenya had to bear the brunt of Mubarak, who scored a 13-ball 46 at a strike rate of 353.84. Sri Lanka finished with 260 runs on the board, while Kenya couldn’t even cross the half way mark, and were uprooted for 88. 7. Kyle Abbott’s most runs conceded in an innings – 68: Kyle Abbott. South Africa batted well, as Du Plessis guided them to 231. But, it was Kyle Abbott who entered the record books, as he gave away 68 runs in his 4 overs. Kyle went over 17 runs per over, though he picked up a wicket of Russell, before getting smacked for 2 sixes and 14 boundaries. Abbott would like to pass on this record, but such thrashing doesn’t take place every day. 8. Chris Gayle’s fastest T20 century – 30 balls: Chris Gayle. (Photo Source: AFP) Explosive West Indies opener Chris Gayle smashed a century off just 30 balls against Pune outfit in the IPL. Gayle blasted 17 sixes and 13 fours off just 66 deliveries to take his team to a mammoth total of 263 for 5 wickets. On that day, he didn’t spare any one, as he kept on sending the white cherry down the stands. The Calypso King didn’t wait for the bad deliveries, as he went down the wicket and sent all the bowler’s to the cleaners. He currently holds the record for the fastest century in T20’s. 9. Suppiah’s best bowling figures in T20s – 6-5: Suppiah’s record figures of 6 for 5, which bettered Sohail Tanvir’s 6 for 14 for Rajasthan against Chennai in an IPL match at Jaipur in May 2008. He bowled 3.4 overs in his spell as all 10 Glamorgan wickets fell to the Somerset spinners. Glamorgan batsmen failed to read Suppiah’s spin, as the entire team was packed for mere 98 runs. Somerset went on to win the match by 5 wickets, as Suppiah tricked a major collapse. With cricket known as a batsman’s game it will be hard to beat a record of this stature. 10. Sri Lanka’s biggest margin of victory (by runs) – 172 runs: (© ALEXANDER JOE/AFP/Getty Images) Sri Lanka trumped Kenya by notching up a mammoth 260 on the board. Kenya on the other hand had a daunting task at hand; they got off to a bad start, and by the end, they were bundled out for 88. Chasing a score of 260 was never easy, but Kenya faltered without a fight, as they failed to score even half of the Lankan total. Johannesburg witnessed a one sided contest, as Sri Lanka floored Kenya by 172 runs, which stays on top of the record books, when it comes to biggest victory by runs in T20I cricket.
