Unmukt Chand signs contract with USA's Major League Cricket for multiple years
Unmukt Chand was the captain of the 2012 U-19 World Cup-winning team.
It was only a day back that skipper of the U-19 World Cup-winning team in 2012, Unmukt Chand decided to end his cricketing journey in India. Chand will now feature in the ‘Cricket for the Community’ match-up for Minor League Cricket’s Strikers which will be held this weekend. In order to be part of the long-term development of cricket in the United States, Chand decided to sign up for this league.
The same league announced that they are pleased to welcome Unmukt Chand into their ranks who has signed up for the Silicon Valley Strikers for the 2021 season. It has to be noted that, Chand also featured in IPL and collected over 4500 runs in his bag in List A cricket. Chand will mark his debut for Silicon Valley against the Socal Lashings on August 14. The match will be held at Morgan Hill outdoor sports complex.
After announcing his playing journey with India, Chand relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and signed a multi-year agreement with a major cricket League in the USA. His signing is aimed to develop cricket in parts of the US by playing and mentoring the American cricketers.

Unmukt Chand calls his decision of leaving India a painful call
After ending his cricket career in India, Chand termed it as a very tough call and that he is very emotional at the moment while taking this step.
“It’s a tough one for someone like me, who has always dreamed of playing for the country. And most of it very emotional one as well and obviously, having played every other cricket, except for the senior team, I think it was a very painful call,” said Chand.
