Covid-19 puts a halt to IPL 2021
The coronavirus pandemic put a halt to the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well, as a number of players tested positive for the disease. Only 29 out of the total of 60 matches that were scheduled to take place in the tournament were completed.
The likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, Amit Mishra, and Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for Covid-19, and the BCCI had to suspend the IPL. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that it is working out the dates to restart the 14th edition of the IPL, and one possible window could be September 2021, before the T20 World Cup.
As for Veda Krishnamurthy, she has played 48 ODIs and 76 T20Is for India. The right-handed batter has scored 829 runs in the ODI format of the game and has scored her runs at an average of 25.90. The 28-year-old has also scored 875 runs in T20I cricket and averages 18.61 in the T20I format of the game. She is the 5th highest run-scorer for India in T20I cricket.
Veda Krishnamurthy made her international debut for India almost a decade back, on 23rd June 2011 against the Australian side.
