The latest news update on the IPL betting and spot fixing scam is that the police seem to be certain that they have enough forensic evidence in the case to nail Gurunath Meiyappan, Vindu Dara Singh, Pawan Jaipur and Chandresh Jupiter on audio basis.

The audio recordings that the police have, have matched to the original voice of all the accused. The cops have already filed the charge sheet against them in the court the report will solidify the case against the defense.

Lawyers of the defendants have maintained that their clients are being framed into the case as there is no perfect evidence against them. But the forensic evidence will leave very little scope to challenge. The recording hears Meiyappan the Chennai Super Kings team principal then passing on team information to actor Vindu and other bookies over the phone.

The bookies relied on his briefing for their bets, this is enough to get the BCCI chief’s son-in-law into legal trouble and even get the case against him. His lawyers have till the point been able to back him well and have even got him out on bail.

Earlier even the Supreme Court appointed Mudgal committee had found him guilty and blamed meiyappan for betting. The case would be heard soon and justice should be expected early as the 7th season of IPL gears up and the ghost of spot fixing in the previous year is still haunting around it.
