The Indian captain Virat Kohli is always all about the promotion of the sports other than cricket and he walks the talk by doing the same. Recently, he attended the event where India’s rising stars from other sports were also on the podium with him and spent some time with them. In the meantime, when Kohli, while getting clicked with the Indian Tennis star Karman Kaur Thandi, tried to match her height everyone laughed in the jovial mood. However, for the same reason, he is being trolled on social media now.
Kohli endorses the renowned watch brand Tissot and they had held an event Bandra’s five-star hotel recently to launch a special edition watch of their own. For the event, the sports stars like Satnam Singh, Karman Kaur Thandi, Aadil Bedi, Shivani Kataria, Sachika Kumar Ingale, Jehan Daruwala, Pinky Rani and Manoj Kumar were also present.
All these athletes are a part of Virat Kohli Foundation and the cricketer presented them with the special edition watch during the programme.
Kohli shorter among many
Virat Kohli might be the among the fittest cricketer in the country. But he is certainly not the tallest. The likes Kamran Kaur Thandi and Satnam made him look way too short on the podium when the media was clicking photos of them together. However, the Indian captain jokingly used the steps on the platform to match with their height and then clicked a few pictures with them with a smile on his face.
While this was an attempt from the celebrity cricketer to get the best shot for the media, Twitterati seems unimpressed with him. Some of the users have brought the male ego into the picture and have lashed out at him. Though some of the fans saw the lighter side of the event and just preferred trolling the Indian skipper stating that at least somewhere he isn’t the best.
Here’s how Twitter trolled Kohli:
You can be anything but the woman can’t be taller than the man.
Such fragile ego.
Such vanity pic.twitter.com/tj0Omypr6g— Sanobar (@SanobarFatma) October 7, 2018
Virat Kohli, 29, established cricket star, height 175 cms
Karman Kaur Thandi, 20, Rising Tennis star, height 183 cms
So how is this picture (advert for Tissot) possible?
Ans. he is standing on a block! pic.twitter.com/TdCiQr7s9J— JayEnAar (@GorwayGlobal) October 8, 2018
Karman kaur thandi is supported by viral kohli foundation. Neither she nor virat would have felt anything odd about this photo shoot set up . But the day either of them realises it there’s only person who has to apologise . pic.twitter.com/GnYJdBfWa0

what a shame. He is such an accomplished cricketer. Why does he have to do this?

He didn't stand like that in front of PV SINDHU. Clearly it's got something to do with the arrangements made there or the difference in occasion which needs addressing. But if you want to prove your point to win the argument, you are welcome.

Why would a Global brand do this? Or is the brand ambassador so powerful?
Tennis star Karman Kaur is definitely a few inches taller than Virat Kohli in the pictures except one. Without shoes too she is definitely taller. @TISSOT India really??? #Tissot pic.twitter.com/ppokTB34Hb— Dextryl Ferrao (@Dextryl) October 8, 2018
I think you have to take this in a positive way.. Virat need support to match Karman Kaur’s height.etc.
Nd m sure this pose was photographers demand nd not Kohli.. https://t.co/CdVCCjARMq— MumBaekar.. (@katamulgi) October 7, 2018
In a recent show for @Fossil, @imVkohli stood on a stool along w/ #karmankaur for a close-up photoshoot just to look taller. I'm not blaming anyone here but what is the message?
