The film released on Friday, September 28 and Kohli seems to have enjoyed every bit of it.
Virat Kohli was all praises for Anushka Sharma‘s new film ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’ which hit the theatres on Friday, September 28. Sui Dhaaga, also featuring actor Varun Dhawan, revolves around the couple setting out to establish a successful business of their own. It propagates the idea of ‘Make in India’, and has been produced by Maneesh Sharma from Yash Raj Films. Sharat Kataria is the director of this much-awaited film.
Virat took to Twitter to express his appreciation for his wife’s role in the film. He wrote, “Saw @SuiDhaagaFilm for the second time last night and I loved it more than the first time. What an emotional rollercoaster with brilliant performances by the entire cast. (1)”
In his following tweet the Indian skipper mentioned, “Mauji was superb @Varun_dvn. But Mamta’s character stole my heart totally. Her ability to be so quiet yet so powerful and impactful makes you fall in love with her. SO PROUD my love! @AnushkaSharma. Don’t miss it guys!”
What is the film about?
The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 2 minutes. Through the protagonist and his wife, this film addresses the issues surrounding the need for social entrepreneurship as a tool for social and economic development of Indian artisans. These are people who are forced to live their lives with small margins as a result of changing times.
Set in a small town in India, the film encapsulates the journey of an honest man from a humble background, who pursues his passion. He eventually overcomes all odds and soon finds himself on the cover of an international magazine with the world taking note of his calibre and determination.
Kohli is currently taking a break from cricket after a lengthy tour of England. The Indian captain starred with the bat in the Test series, amassing 593 runs in 5 matches. However, India suffered a 1-4 defeat in the Test series, and the team was subject to much criticism for their poor performance overseas. He was therefore rested for the Asia Cup and has handed captaincy duties to Rohit Sharma.
Kohli is likely to be back at the helm when India take on the West Indies at home. The Indians will then travel to Australia for a long tour the starts in November.
