The 17th match of the VIVO IPL-2017 took place in the Chinnaswamy stadium last night, as Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiant clashed against each other. With a tremendous performance with the ball by the RPS bowling unit, they won the match by 27 runs and added marked their second victory in this year’s tournament. They also moved up to the 6th position in the points table. As a result of 3 consecutive losses, the men in red find themselves at the bottom of the table with just one win from the 5 games they played. Skipper Virat Kohli was hugely disappointed and blamed his team-mates for not showing enough intent in their match against RPS. Kohli thanked the RCB fans for supporting them and he asked the players to take the responsibility and deliver the goods, so that the fans get something to cheer for.

“They (fans) have always backed us throughout. Last year was a situation where we needed their support and they were out here (at M Chinnaswamy Stadium) in huge numbers to do that. Once we get things turning around for us, hopefully in the next couple of games, then we can come back home and dominate. We as players need to take more responsibility so that we can give fans something to cheer about” said Virat Kohli after the match. Whenever RCB plays at the home, fans turn out in large numbers to cheer and encourage them. The same thing happened yesterday too but they had to leave the stadium with disappointment on their faces. The skipper also urged the ‘Red Army’ to keep supporting the team so that they can show their dominance in the upcoming matches.

Their next match is against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 23 which will take place at the electrifying Eden Gardens in Kolkata. RCB’s next home contest is against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25.
