Virat Kohli urges Afghanistan players to have self-belief
He advised them to stay true to their nature always.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has advised the players of Afghanistan to keep working hard in the future in a video dedicated to them. He is always known to be an ambassador of the sport and this time he has posted a heartening message for one of the upcoming bright nations in Afghanistan. They have recently been awarded as the Test playing nation and are also soon slated to make their debut in the 5-day format. However, they are currently in Hong Kong for a 4-day intercontinental match against the hosts.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) recently appointed the former Australian Professor Dean Jones as the interim coach of the cricket team. There were also rumours that Mohammad kaif was in line for the coveted position but things didn’t go as planned between the two parties. Though Jones was excited to begin his new journey as he was also the commentator in the recently concluded Shpageeza Cricket League, the domestic T20 tournament in the country.
Always stay true to your nature
The official twitter handle of ACB shared the video of Virat Kohli in which he had congratulated them for successfully organising the T20 tournament despite being distracted due to the suicide bomb blast near the stadium. The 28-year-old in his message said, “ I want to congratulate you for your T20 tournament and also wish you all the very best for the future and the journey you’ve had in your cricket so far.”
“It’s been amazing to watch and I’ve been always following to see what you guys have been doing. I can see the passion in you especially when the cricketers play so I think the same kind of passion is shared by the people back home as well. Always remain true to yourself and success will come to you surely. Whatever you do, do it with full passion and work really hard to reach towards your goal,” he said in his wonderful message to the cricketers.
ACB and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have had good relations between them. Afghanistan cricketers have played international and domestic matches in the Greater Noida Stadium. Though the message from one of their favourite cricketers will surely pump them up ahead of the important clash against Hong Kong.
