After the conclusion of the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand, which the Indians won by a margin of 2-1, the press infuriated Indian skipper Virat Kohli regarding the case of MS Dhoni in the Indian team. Kohli lashed out at the media for being unfair to MSD by continuously targetting him whenever he fails to live up to the expectations.

Shortly after his elaborated statements, Kohli found backing from various cricketing personalities. One of them was former Indian international, Pragyan Ojha, who played his cricket under the captaincy of MS Dhoni largely.

The issue was highlighted initially after he failed to finish a match against South Africa at Kanpur back in 2015. Then again, during one of the matches in the Carribean this year, MS Dhoni was criticized for playing slow, which led to an Indian loss.

Thereafter, forgetting about his contributions in the series against Australia and Sri Lanka, MSD has been criticized yet again for his innings against New Zealand in the Second T20I, with the asking rate peaking towards 20 per over.

Pragyan Ojha, Gautam Gambhir and many other came in support of MS and dismissed all speculations for him having to retire from the limited-overs cricket.

“I strongly feel @msdhoni bhai knows where he stands and how long… he can go. I am sure #TeamIndia also knows the value he adds. Just a thought about a selfless man✌️#legend,” tweeted Ojha.

Here’s the post

“He is doing absolutely fine. He is working hard on his game, understands his role but it doesn’t come off every time. He hit a six in Delhi and it got showed five times in the post-match show and suddenly he doesn’t score in one game and we are after his life,” said Kohli during the post-match conference.

“People need to be a bit more patient. He is a guy who understands where his cricket is. He is a very smart guy and understands where he stands with his body and game. I don’t think anyone else has the right to decide that for him,” concluded VK.
