Virender Sehwag extends birthday wishes to Yuvraj Singh in a unique way as the southpaw turns 38
Yuvraj played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is in which he scored over 11,000 runs and took nearly 150 wickets.
Yuvraj Singh, one of the greats of modern-day cricket, turned 38 on Thursday. This is the first birthday of the cricketer after he became an ex-international earlier this year. However, that hasn’t lessened his popularity one notch and it was evident as wishes poured in for him. Yuvraj’s former India colleague Virender Sehwag also came up with a unique tweet for him on his birthday and it won hearts all over the social media.
Sehwag, who is known for his interesting takes on social media platform Twitter, mentioned all the English alphabets from A to Z except U an V and said “UV” are rare to find. He then said when the going gets tough, Yuvraj gets going, clearly hinting at his off-ground heroics of overcoming the deadly disease of cancer besides the on-ground feats.
Yuvraj Singh is still remembered for hitting six sixes in an over in the 2007 World T20
Yuvraj, who hung up his boots from international cricket in June this year, continues to play in franchise cricket. Though not being a force he once was, the southpaw still produces glimpses of his special talent in whatever cricket he plays.
The left-hander is still remembered for hitting six sixes in an over in the 2007 World Twenty20 and the International Cricket Council recalled the moment on Yuvraj’s day by tweeting a video of the extraordinary act against England’s Stuart Broad in South Africa.
The dashing left-hander, who finished as the man of the series in the 2011 ICC World Cup that Indian won, is also known for returning to the cricket ground by beating the threats of cancer. The cricketer still remembers those days of his struggle and boosts people in their missions in life. He set up a foundation with his mother Shabnam- ‘YouWeCan’ to contribute to the fight against cancer by spreading awareness about it.
Former India captain Sachin Tendulkar also wished Yuvraj on his birthday, calling him a ‘superstar’. Yuvraj played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is in which he scored over 11,000 runs and took nearly 150 wickets.
