The excitement for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League is mounting up. With the auction, just four days away, all the teams are now finalizing the players they would want to have in their teams. The think tanks of all the eight teams will be figuring out the finances. Also, they will try to predict how the other franchises will go about this auction.
The IPL Governing Council earlier announced the date when the league will commence. The 11th edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to be held from April 7 to May 27. The champions of the previous edition, the Mumbai Indians will host the first and final matches of the season in their home ground. Both these games will take place at the iconic Wankhede Cricket Stadium in the financial capital of India.
The auctions will decide the amount of success a franchise will get in the tournament. All the teams are building up their teams from the scratch. They would want to get some good buys at the desired price point.
Sehwag reckons RCB or Delhi Daredevils to win the title
Former Indian dashing opener, Virender Sehwag tried to predict the winner of the season. He is currently the Director of Cricket Operations for the Kings XI Punjab. Amidst all the talks about the auction, Sehwag hit one ball for a six by trying to predict the winner.
Sehwag gave a very interesting answer when he was asked about the winner of IPL 2018. Talking to Cricket Next, the Nawab of Nazafgarh said, “This year, I would want a franchise who has never won the tournament to lift the title. Whether it’s Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils or Royal Challengers Bangalore, one of these teams should win the title which will increase the level of competition in the tournament.”
The Kings XI Punjab team will also have a new home ground this season. The Punjab based franchise selected Indore as their second home ground. KXIP will play four of their home matches in Mohali while they will play the other three in Indore.
