Virender Sehwag takes a cheeky dig at Ross Taylor after India clinch the series
India defeated New Zealand by 6 runs in the decider of the T20I series.
Virender Sehwag and Ross Taylor are involved in a hilarious banter on social media ever since New Zealand won the first ODI in Mumbai. Both ODI and T20I series were played in great spirit on and off the field as the teams fought gamely in all the six matches. The deciders went right down the wire but India prevailed every time by keeping their nerves. However, Sehwag didn’t miss out to tease Taylor cheekily after the close game on Tuesday in Thiruvananthapuram which India won by 6 runs.
It was all started by Viru after the first match of the tour at Wankhede Stadium when the most experienced batsman of the visiting camp Taylor had played a match-winning knock for his side. He termed the Kiwi batsman as ‘Darji’ (means Tailor) in his congratulatory tweet for him. Though the conversation was taken to a different level by the New Zealander and he replied in perfect Hindi to Sehwag’s message which took everyone by surprise. The banter continued for a couple of days and the fans too enjoyed.
Dhulaai ke Baad Silaai
Ross Taylor however, re-ignited the flame yet again after the visitors triumphed in the second T20I in Rajkot. He posted a picture of him sitting in front of a closed tailor shop and wrote, “@virendersehwag #Rajkot mein match k baad, #darji (Tailor) Ki dukaan band. Agli silai #Trivandrum mein hogi… Zaroor Aana. #India #IndvNZ.” Sehwag was impressed at his skills and had also asked the Indian Government to provide him Aadhaar Card as he could speak Hindi fluently.
Virender Sehwag is not among those cricketers who will let things go. He kept the message of Taylor in mind and soon after India won the third T20I in Kerala reminded him of the way India defeated New Zealand. He also praised the Kiwis for the fight they put up in last few days but not before taking a cheeky dig at the experienced Black Caps player. Any which ways the Nawab of Najafgarh won the ultimate battle in the end and had the last laugh. He tweeted, “Dhulaai ke baad silaai, but well played NZ.Never feel very bad losing against NZ because they are such nice guys, but sweet victory for India.”
