Virushka - A paradisiacal journey (2013-2017)

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma – ‘Virushka’ one of the most loved couples are celebrated personalities in their respective fields- cricket and movies. Both have enjoyed truckload of success in their career stints and have also entertained the audience with their masterful skills. The duo has been in a relationship for the last four and half years.

While there have been ups and downs in their love-affair, they have managed to weather every storm and have carried forward their relationship with grace and dignity. The couple recently tied the knot and cleared all the rumours and speculations that have been lurking around surrounding their marriage.

Timeline of their voyage  

August 2013- Celebrities and advertisements are closely connected. While an ad shoot is a source of revenue for cricketers, it also gives a promotional kick, both to the product and the celebrity. In a shampoo advertisement, the producers decided to cast Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. Amidst the commercialisation, a love-story embarked on a journey.

January 2014- Virat had a relatively impressive tour of South Africa with the willow. However, after returning to India, the swashbuckling cricketer headed to Anushka’s apartment in Mumbai. The news immediately hogged the headlines.

April 2014– She had an eventful year as she acted in two big-banner movies- Amir Khan-starrer P.K and Bombay Velvet with Ranbir Kapoor. P.K garnered a handsome collection while Bombay Velvet doomed at the box-office. During the shoot of the films, Virat went to check on his lady-love, which again grabbed eyeballs.

October 2014- The lovebirds were spotted in an Indian Super League contest between FC Goa and FC Pune City. It also manifested their freedom to unhesitantly venture out together at public events.

November 2014– He played exceptionally well to notch a half-century against Sri Lanka in a One Day International at Hyderabad. The moment of the day unfolded when he blew a flying kiss to Anushka, who smiled and blushed from the stands. Meanwhile, she also applauded him for a wonderful knock.

March 2015– Her own project NH 10 released, and attracted mixed views from critics and audiences. She was also nominated in the Filmfare Awards for the Best Actress. Kohli also dropped in a tweet to laud the Bollywood heroine’s performance on screen.

June 2015– Virat faltered with the bat during India’s semi-final clash against Australia in the 2015 cricket world cup. Consequently, people from every nook and corner of the nation bashed Anushka for Kohli’s poor run of form. Nevertheless, the Indian skipper took a stand for his love and slammed the public on social media.

February 2016– It was bizarre, but a movie apparently became a hindrance to their relationship. Sharma signed Salman Khan-starrer Sultan, while Virat Kohli wanted to take their relationship a step ahead. Reportedly her decision irked Kohli and both of them unfollowed each other on Instagram. Soon after, reports about their alleged breakup broke out.

December 2016– Their derailed relationship resurrected with time as both were seen attending Yuvraj Singh’s marriage with Hazel Keech at Chandigarh. In the month earlier, they were spotted during an ISL contest between FC Goa and the Delhi Dynamos, which quashed all the qualms pertaining to their relationship.

October 2017– Virushka featured in a Manyavaar advertisement where Virat was seen vowing to keep Anushka happy all her life. Soon after, rumours of their marriage in December sparked. The fact that Kohli requested the BCCI for a break during that time gave people more reasons to anticipate the couple’s marriage.

December 2017– News broke out that the lovebirds will get hitched in a destination wedding at Italy. Leaving all the rumours and speculations behind, the lovebirds eventually got married on 11th December. After the marriage, Kohli shared some pics on his Twitter profile, which soon flooded across social media.
