The Australian all-rounder known for his brashness took two brilliant catches in an ODI, to put the Sri Lankan team into trouble. The former Sri Lankan captain Marvin Atapattu was surprised by Andrew Symonds’ lightning speed reflex which left the batsman upset, when the Atapattu played a Bracken’s delivery lifting it up hurling it towards the boundary, it was caught with a jump and in one hand by Symonds on its way, making the Sri Lankan team lose another important wicket in an early stage of the match.

The second though came later in the match, was even more admirable. His accuracy while dislodging the wickets with direct hits from the edge of the ring or close in are re-known, apart from his batting and part-time bowling, made him a key member of the Australian team in the 2000s.
