The Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL 2024) final at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, witnessed a nail-biting clash between defending champions Barbados Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders. The match saw the Royals successfully defending their title with a crucial four-wicket victory.

The game's turning point came in the 12th over of the Knight Riders' innings. Aaliyah Alleyne, the Royals' star bowler, delivered a fuller-length ball outside off-stump to Jannillea Glasgow. Attempting to hit through the gap behind mid-off, Glasgow miscued her shot, handing a straight catch to Amanda-Jade Wellington.

This breakthrough brought a different celebration from Alleyne. The 29-year-old bowler sprinted towards her teammates, dropping to the ground in joy.

"What a TOPCO Celebration from the @BarbadosRoyals in the Massy WCPL Final at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy," the moment was aptly captioned by CPL's official social media.

Alleyne's performance proved crucial, as she finished with exceptional figures of 4/21. Her spell, along with skippet Hayley Matthews' two wickets, restricted the Knight Riders to a mere 93/8 in their 20 overs. Despite fighting efforts from Shikha Pandey (28 runs) and Kycia Knight (17 not out), the total proved insufficient.

In response, the Royals' chase was anchored by Chamari Athapaththu's unbeaten 39 off 47 balls. Her innings, consisting of seven boundaries, guided the team to victory with five overs to spare. Contributions from Matthews, Qiana Joseph, and Laura Harris further played an important role in the Royals' dominant performance.
