Watch: Bodyguard tackles TV reporter to protect Faf du Plessis
South African skipper Faf du Plessis was confronted by a reporter at the Adelaide airport when the Proteas arrived in the city to play the third and final Test match at the Adelaide Oval. In recent times, the South Africa skipper has been on the receiving end of a lot of brunts following the ‘lollygate’ scandal he is involved in at the moment.
The incident occurred when the South African team was moving towards their team bus towards their team hotel when a presenter from the Channel nine network approached du Plessis. In a bid to get a few things out of the Proteas skipper on the ongoing scandal, he was shoved out of the way by the bodyguard accompanying the South African team.
The reporter seemingly dropped his mic as well and was not allowed to pick it back up as the skipper and his entourage walked along their path towards the team bus. Outside the airport as well, the reporter made futile advances towards the skipper only to be blocked by the guard at all times.
Faf du Plessis has been on the receiving end of the yardstick for the most part of the ongoing tour for ball tampering, something that he and his lawyers have quashed from time to time. The Proteas stand on the brink of a whitewash against the Aussies who have taken drastic steps in terms of squad changes for the final Test at Adelaide.
