Virat Kohli and his band of merry men completed an impressive win over the Bangladeshis after sessions of gruelling Test match cricket. However, this was something that was somewhat of a reality check for Kohli and his men after especially the manner in which they were made to work hard to get their wickets, something that not many expected. However, while this is certainly a learning curve for the men in blue, the fact is that there was no shortage of drama right till the very end.
The end result might have seen the Indians win by a massive margin of 208 runs, but the fact is that the drama quite literally went till the very end of the innings. The wicket of Taskin Ahmed at the close of play was something that caught the eye of one and all, especially when the third umpire came into play once again.
Ashwin had bowled a peach of a delivery, something the Indians believed to have been out. With just the one wicket left and the two reviews in their kitty, it was clear that Kohli would definitely go ahead with the review. However, Marias Erasmus went ahead with the review anyway despite the fact that the Indians were on the brink of going upstairs. Evidence found pointed to the catch that was illegal as it had not touched Taksin’s bat.
But, there was indeed more. More in the form of Kohli getting his own review and going upstairs to check the leg-before. Further evidence pointed to the fact that Taskin was indeed out leg-before, something that ensured that the Indians had clinched the game with a session to spare.
