Watch: Dwayne Smith shatters the drinks fridge glass door with a six

When the Guyana Amazon Warriors landed Dwayne Smith, they certainly knew what they were getting into. If it is possible to describe the 33-year old batsman in three words, it would be Tall, Aggressive, and Powerful, traits that allow him to be the batsman that he is. However, apart from all of that, Smith became world renowned for his amazing performance in the 23rd match of the CPL between the St. Lucia Zouks and the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

He smashed a magnificent 56 and also picked up a wicket. However, this proved to be insufficient as the Zouks went on to claim a comfortable win over the Warriors by 9 wickets and 23 deliveries to spare.

In spite of this, the match, in particular, will be remembered for the one six Dwayne Smith smashed over the head of long-off and straight into the refrigerator containing the drinks for the players, a wee 3 or 4 yards away from the player’s dugout.

Facing recently retired Kiwi Grant Elliot, Smith smashed him straight down the ground, a place where Elliot had little or no protection and the ball eventually ending up ramming into the fridge door.

Although it did not go on to damage, a large portion of the same saw the top half of the glass get shattered, courtesy of the sheer brute force employed by the unassuming Smith.
