The third day of the third Test between India and Australia had ended on a very key note with both teams equally into the game. The match was poised at a stage with India trailing by 91 runs and wih 4 wickets in hand. Clearly, the proceedings of the fourth day had a lot to offer. The hosts hoped to bat along and get a handsome lead. On the other hand, the Aussies hoped to clean up the remaining four wickets as soon as possible.

Amidst such a backdrop, began the penultimate day of the Ranchi Test. Batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara, who was batting on an unbeaten ton, and Wriddhiman Saha walked in to resume the India’s overnight score of 360/6. What perspired in the hours to follow was an excellent display of batsmanship. Saha and Pujara looked comfortable at the crease and made the visitors look feeble on the day.

As runs came by smoothly, nothing seemed to go in the way of the Australian side. They did not get their DRS right and failed to contain the run flow as well. Thus it came as no surprise that the Aussies decided to go in the way that they have been renowned for. The players started chirping in with verbal duels.

One such verbal volley that caught the attention of the fans and the players was by pacer Josh Hazlewood. It was in the 10th over of the day when Hazlewood fired in a bouncer at Wriddhiman Saha. The wicket keeper batsman of team India somehow managed to negotiate the chin climbing delivery. He did not look very comfortable playing it and it was perhaps the reason why Hazlewood had a go at him.

He was seen chirping in a few words to Saha. He asked Saha to stop defending the deliveries and rather try to hit those. Saha, who was unfazed with the verbal volleys, asked Hazlewood to go back to the bowling mark and get back to bowling. Watch the Aussies throwing a few verbal shots at the Indian team.
