Watch: Karun Nair opens up about himself ahead of KPL: The Karnataka batsman Karun Nair, debuted in the first class season of 2013-14 with a magnificent performance. He became a contributory part of the side that won the Ranji and Irani titles. He brought himself to the limelight with three simultaneous centuries in the Ranji matches, which included the quarter and the semi-finals. He put an end to Karnataka’s 15-year wait for the Ranji title with a six that came off his bat.

Karun Nair went four years without scoring a ton during his teens at the age-group level, so the centuries that followed were quite impressive for someone like him. At the young age of 15 he was good enough to make it into the U-19 team and he slowly climbed the stairs as he made his way to the Ranji team in his early 20s. Karun Nair has recently been called up as a replacement in the Indian Team in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Test series since both Murali Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha were sent back home following an injury. His stellar performances have brought him the attention to fulfill his dream of being a part of the Indian team.

A quick rapid-fire round follows the interview with Karun Nair:
