The Australian Cricket team had a unique way of wishing their Olympic contingent all the best ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics. Three of the Cricket team’s members – Mitchell Marsh, Nathan Lyon and Steven O’Keefe engaged in a mock, humour filled Shot put contest to cheer their Olympic team.

418 athletes across 26 sports will represent Australia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Team comprises 271 first timers.

The host of the funny event was Mitchell Marsh.

“Today the first event will be the shot put with the cricket ball from two of cricket Australia’s heavyweights SOK and Gaza. It will be a real test with a 156-gram cricket ball,” he announced.

Nathan Lyon a.k.a Gaza began as the crowd favourite before the start of the event while his competitor Steven O’Keefe a.k.a SOK was stretching rigorously.

SOK also acknowledged his opposition’s strength.

“I am here against simple pretty stiff competition Gaza has obviously has the bets set of legs in the Australian cricket team. However, he might have left his backside back in Sydney. So, I am quite confident”

Meanwhile, Darren Lehmann, Australia’s, head coach, was overseeing the event with a cup of coffee in his hand. Host Marsh introduced the personality in a wonderful way.

“Talking about Shape and Sizes, we have one man up here bald and Old And he is loving it the shot put.”

After mocking Lehmann, marsh turned back to commencing the vent and made the grand announcement.

“All ladies and gentleman we can sense a nerves here. The first competitor will be Nathan Lyon from Canberra.” (Darren Lehmann laughing in the background)

Lyon was the first one to go in. He takes two big huffs and throws the ball. But, unfortunately, begins with a foul throw.

Steven O’Keefe acted like a complete professional. He was warming up for a long time and was ready in his superman position to throw the ball. As expected after seeing his body language, SOK did an exceptional job with a 20-meter throw.

Two more rounds took place and eventually it was the crowd favorite ‘Canberra Champion’ who won the Gold.
