Watch: Shahid Afridi gets dismissed in the most unluckiest form: They say that Cricket is a game where a lot depends on luck. This video is an acute example of the same where we see Pakistani legend Shahid Khan Afridi getting dismissed in the unluckiest possible manner.
It was the first match between Bangladesh and Pakistan at Dhaka in the Asia Cup back in March, 2012. Batting first, Pakistan looked to be struggling with the bat in the initial overs. Shahid Afridi came to the crease in the 40th over of the innings. Right in the first delivery that he faced off Shakib Al Hasan, he played with a straight bat and the ball went straight into the hands of Shakib but that was not the end of the story.
Shakib fumbled initially and juggled with the ball. With that, in the unluckiest possible manner, the ball went to touch Misbah, who was the non-striker and thus in the process, the bowler quickly dodged onto take the catch in the fifth attempt. And thus, Afridi went for a duck off the first ball.
Such a caught and bowled dismissal is perhaps one of the most absurd form of dismissals we have ever seen in international cricket. Luck was showering upon Shakib on one hand, while on the other, Afridi had the share of sheer amount of bad luck.
In the match, Pakistan went onto score 262 runs, courtesy of a blasting cameo from Umar Gul at the death. In reply, Bangladesh struggled while chasing and were ultimately bundled at the score of 241 runs in 48.1 overs. Pakistan thus won the match by a margin of 21 runs.
