Watch: Tim Ludeman takes an insane diving catch to dismiss Thisara Perera
The Brisbane Heats were chasing a target of 186 runs set by Adelaide Strikers. Heats’ all-rounder Thisara Perera was in great batting form and had just finished the last over by leg-spinner Cameron Boyce with two massive sixes. Heats needed 57 runs off 40 balls with seven wickets in their hands.
In the 14th over of the game, Kieron Pollard came in and bowled a slower one to the raging Perera. He blindly tried to hit the ball down the ground, but it took a thin edge. The ball looped towards the left of the wicketkeeper Tim Ludeman and was travelling towards the area between the non-existent first and second slip.
And, within milliseconds, Thisara Perera was left stunned along with many others in the stadium. Ludeman jumped off the ground like a Salmon and grabbed the catch. It was a crazy effort which showcased Tim Ludeman’s outstanding wicket keeping and athletic skills. He stretched fully and was literally seen flying in the air. He was fully horizontal when he took the catch and ended it with a perfect landing. It was a treat for any sports lover to watch this catch.
Ludeman and the rest of the team celebrated as Strikers made a very crucial breakthrough with the help of this wonderful catch. Kieron Pollard was even more animated as he jumped in the air in joy as soon as he saw Tim Ludeman complete the catch. Perera could not believe his eyes as he slowly walked back to the dugout after making a quick 12 runs off just 4 balls, repeatedly watching at the wicketkeeper in disbelief.
