Former India player and cricket pundit Aakash Chopra has said that Virat Kohli’s rough patch with the bat is making every cricket fan teary-eyed. His statements come after Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck for the second consecutive time in the tournament.

In RCB’s previous encounter against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, all of RCB’s batters failed as SRH cleaned them out for a mere 68 runs in 16.1 overs. But more than RCB’s performance, what came as an even bigger shocker was Virat Kohli’s bad luck. The former captain has been struggling to get runs, especially in the previous two clashes, being dismissed on the very first ball that he faced.

“The question is what about Virat Kohli, when will he score runs, whether they will be scored or not. Two consecutive golden ducks, he has gotten run out twice in this season, we are getting tears in our eyes,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Hope that they do well but it is going very bad at the moment:

Meanwhile, it is not just Kohli who has been struggling as the current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is also going through a bad phase. Neither of the two have managed to score big this season, and their form is a matter of concern with the T20 World Cup being around the corner. Both Kohli and Rohit have played seven games in the league so far, and have managed to score only 119 runs and 114 runs respectively

Chopra is positive about Kohli overcoming the current phase and bouncing back stronger. He also stated that the former skipper needs everyone’s support right now, as he feels that a player needs support during bad times of his career.

“I always say that Dhoni, Rohit, Kohli – they become emotions – and you are feeling a little empathy now, with both Rohit and Kohli. We really hope that they do well but it is going very bad at the moment. You do feel for Kohli,” said Chopra empathizing with the two players.
