'We have to give sometime to Rishabh Pant' - Sourav Ganguly backs Indian wicketkeeper
Recently, the BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly was questioned, if India is missing MS Dhoni's safe hands behind the wickets.
Rishabh Pant, the young Indian wicketkeeper has been brought under the scanner for his poor form with the bat by the former Indian cricketers and fans. In the series against Bangladesh, he was yet again given the chances in order to prove his worth, but he failed in it. Now, the former Indian skipper and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has given his opinion on the talented youngster.
The Delhiite scored only 27 runs in 26 deliveries and was also involved in confusion while running between the wickets because of which Shikhar Dhawan got run-out after scoring 41 odd runs. He also committed quite a few fumbles behind the wickets followed by a couple of wrong decisions and misjudgments in both the games.
Sourav Ganguly gives his opinion on Rishabh Pant
Recently, the BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly was questioned, if India is missing MS Dhoni‘s safe hands behind the wickets. In reply to it, the former Indian skipper said that Pant is a fantastic player and he will be fine in due course of time. Everyone should give him some time in order to get mature. He will slowly get into the grooves soon.
“He’s a superb player. Give Rishabh Pant time, he will be fine. He will mature slowly, you have to give him time. India play,” Ganguly said as quoted by India Today.
He also spoke about the landmark game that is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. And, gave a nod that many big players like Sachin Tendulkar, Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, tennis star Sania Mirza, world badminton champion PV Sindhu and six-time boxing world champion MC Mary Kom will be felicitated on the historic occasion.
He also gave a reply in the affirmation that everyone will be going to attend the game, “Everyone has confirmed. We will have a formal reception in the afternoon,” he added.
The Test series between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to get kicked off from the 14th of November. The first match will be played at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, followed by the second at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The final Test will be a Day-Night game and the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will ring the Eden Gardens Bell on Day-one in order to commence the historic game.
