South Africa have mostly been on struggling end in India since very long. They have been fueling with the curse of losing back to back Test series in India. Their last victory in the longest format on Indian soil came in 2009-10 on Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. To finish this drought, Proteas skipper has asked his batters to do well in the last match of the series.

The hosts have uprooted two victories in their last two meetings against the visitors by big margins of 203 runs and one inning and 137 runs respectively. South African bowlers and batsmen are consistently looking helpless in their respective traits against the number one Test team in the world. But, now Faf du Plessis has tried his best to inject something positive in his team.

Faf du Plessis has a piece of advice for his batsmen ahead of Ranchi Test

35-year-old feels that once a player gets runs in the first innings, from that point anything is possible but it is important to play some good knocks for it, “When you get runs in the first innings anything from there is possible. For us first innings runs will be vital and then anything could happen in the second innings. We need to put big runs on the board in the first innings.” Proteas skipper said as quoted by NDTV sports.

He also asked his batsmen to learn from Indian batsmen to put up some good show in Ranchi Test, “It is really important that you prepare as much as you can and make it as tough as possible,” he added.

Visitor’s team has already lost the series and now they have met with a major blow as their opener Aiden Markram has been ruled out of the final Test after his wrist injury. And according to the reports, he banged his hand into a solid object after getting dismissed in the 2nd Test.

Indian batting and bowling looked outrageous in the first Test series of their home season this year and will look to end it on a high note by winning Ranchi Test starting on 19th October 2019.
