The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the schedule for the West Indies’ tour of Pakistan in the month of June. The ‘Men in Maroon’ will visit Pakistan for a three-match ODI series, which will commence on 8th June 2022. The second and third ODI matches of the series will be played on 10th and 12th June 2022, respectively.
The West Indies players are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan by 5th June 2022. The series was to be played last year, but the West Indies camp getting affected by a spree of Covid-19 cases meant it was postponed to June 2022.
The series will form a part of the ICC World Cup Super League. As far as this tournament is concerned, the teams that are placed at the first seven spots will directly qualify for the 2023 World Cup, along with hosts India. The World Cup is slated to be held in the Indian subcontinent in the months of October and November.
Pakistan are gearing up to face Australia in a limited-overs series
But, currently, the focus of the Babar Azam-led Pakistan side will be on dealing with the Australian outfit. The Aussies will lock horns with Pakistan in three ODIs and a T20I match. The ODI series will kick off on 29th March 2022 and will conclude on 2nd April 2022. The only T20I match of the series will be played on 5th April 2022.
Before the limited-overs assignment, Pakistan and Australia were involved in a gruelling three-match Test series. After the first two Test matches ended in a draw, the Aussies decimated the Pakistan outfit by 115 runs in the final Test to seal the series.
Meanwhile, here is the complete schedule of the ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies:
