During the game, Kagiso Rabada didn’t have an ideal start to his bowling as he got smashed for as many as 11 runs in his first over of the night. Bowling his second over, the speedster got hammered for a boundary on the very first ball. However, Rabada scripted a memorable comeback as he showed some incredible piece of bowling.
On the third ball of the 13th over, Rabada bowled a mobile yorker that managed to catch Kieron Pollard off guard. Pollard, who was facing his second ball only, missed reading the delivery and the ball crashed into a leg stump. Thus, the West Indies skipper marched back to the pavilion after scoring just one run off 2 balls.
South Africa wins the third T20I against West Indies by one run
The highly-anticipated clash between West Indies and South Africa commenced with Kieron Pollard winning the toss and inviting the visitors to put the total on the board. Batting first, South Africa managed to post a score of 167. The wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was the wrecker-in-chief for the visitors as he played a remarkable knock of 72 runs off 51 deliveries.
For the West Indies, Obed McCoy was the pick of the bowlers. Obed was the only bowler who managed to gain some success for the hosts. The 24-year-old picked as many as four wickets in his four overs while bowling at an economy rate of 5.5. Chasing 168, West Indies saw the batters forming small partnerships on the field.
Though the host batsmen received a good start, they failed to convert it into something substantial. No West Indies batsman touched the score of 30 as South Africa bowlers showed disciplined bowling action and kept taking timely wickets. Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi were the highest wicket-takers for the visitors as they picked two wickets each.
