'Will sun rise tomorrow?' Rohit Sharma reacts to a fan's cheeky query
He is looking excited to lead India in the Asia Cup.
Rohit Sharma has been named the skipper of Team India for the upcoming Asia Cup as the regular captain Virat Kohli has been rested for the tournament. He will lead the country for the second time this year after winning the Nidahas Trophy, the T20 tri-series, in March. Not long ago, his fans were lashing out at the selectors for not picking him in the Test squad for the five-match tussle against England.
Even Rohit himself had expressed his disappointment over his selection indirectly on his official Twitter handle. But hi continuous failure outside India in the longer format had gone against him. Not that he wasn’t given enough chances. The vice-captain of the Test team Ajinkya Rahane was dropped for him for the first couple of Test matches against South Africa. He failed miserably and couldn’t improve on his record overseas.
Rohit had earlier tweeted, “Sun will rise again tomorrow,” after the Test squad was announced for the England tour which had indicated that he was disappointed.
Here’s what Rohit had earlier tweeted:
Hitman goes live
Rohit Sharma, on Saturday, urged his fans to ask him questions on Twitter as he had promised them to come live on his social media handle. His fans threw various kinds of questions at him as India’s opener answered them smartly. However, one of the fans tried to take a cheeky dig at him and reminded him of his earlier tweet. “#AskRo will sun rise again tomorrow ???? @ImRo45,” the fan asked.
Rohit, this time around, was happy with him being appointed the skipper of the national team and responded, “Always.” His response cleared that one of India’s best ODI batsman is in a good space and is looking forward to winning the Asia Cup for his country.
Team India will begin their campaign on September 18 against the qualifying team and then will face the arch-rivals Pakistan the very next day.
