Pakistan’s in the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2022 has turned out to be disastrous so far as they have lost all their four matches against arch-rivals India, Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh respectively. Despite things not going their way on the field, it has not hampered the Women in Green from entertaining fans off the field.

Earlier, senior player Jemimah Khan was heard singing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ and now her teammate Diana Baig has also come forward and showcased her singing abilities as pacer turned rapper, singing a famous Bollywood chartbuster that not only topped the charts but also became a trend.

Diana Baig turns rapper

During an interaction with sports anchor as well as ICC Digital Insider, Sanjana Ganesan, Pakistan’s bowling sensation Diana Baig showcases her rapping skills. It so happened that the host had asked the team members who was the best rapper among them and that is when Diana’s name was given.

The onus was then on the pacer and she obliged by singing the blockbuster as well as a trendsetter rap song titled ‘Apna Time Aayega’ from the 2019 Bollywood movie Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

Meanwhile, Diana Baig has only managed two wickets in the tournament so far and would be hoping to get better as the tournament progresses. While Pakistan suffered heavy losses against India and Australia, they suffered close but heartbreaking defeats against South Africa and Bangladesh respectively despite having restricted both the opponents to manageable totals.

Chasing 224 against the Proteas, the Bismah Maroof-led side were well in control before the pressure got the better of them and their rivals capitalized on the same to register a six-run victory. The Women in Green then showcased a clinical performance against Bangladesh as well and opener Sidra Ameen’s blistering 104 laid a solid foundation for them chasing 235.

Unfortunately, an awful batting display from the middle-order meant that they were restricted to 225/9 from their allotted 50 overs as their Asian rivals came out on top by nine runs.
