World Cup 2015 Group A Match 21 India v UAE Preview
World Cup 2015 Group A Match 21 India v UAE Preview:
Date: 28 Feb 2015 Time: 1200 IST
Venue: Perth
UAE
UAE played wonderful cricket against Ireland but could not win the match despite a nail biting finish in the end. UAE can take heart from their batting effort especially from Shaiman Anwar who scored UAE’s first World Cup hundred. They also have Amjad Ali, Khurram Khan, Swapnil Patil in good form who can bat through the innings and around the in-form Anwar. They even have their tail-enders making runs easily against Irish bowlers.
UAE bowlers got them so close to victory that took a superhuman effort from Ireland to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Amjad Javed, Mohd. Tauqir and Mohd. Naveed along with Krishna Karate can be problematic for Indian batting line up on the Perth pitch. Their main problem will be to contain Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina to somewhat respectable total that they can chase realistically.
India
India will look to have some flexibility in their batting line up and bowling when they face UAE. This is a good chance for India to get a big win and up their net run rate. Also it is a good chance for Rohit Sharma to get some much needed batting in the ground and get his touch back, while Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni could promote themselves to up the order to get some much needed batting practice ahead of the knockout phase.
Rohit Sharma’s form is the greatest concern for India since he has not hit double figures in matches played so far. Also it would be a chance to let Rahane play some more deliveries by sending him up the order for him to gain some more hitting form.
India’s bowling took a blow when Mohd. Shami was declared unfit for the match due to injury to his knee. This will give Bhuvaneshwar Kumar a chance to get a bowl at the UAE batsmen and get some practice. This will also give chance to Jadeja and Ashwin to experiment, maybe Dhoni will bowl them in power play overs.
