World Cup 2015 Match 41 Group B West Indies vs UAE; Last chance for WI to qualify for QFs
World Cup 2015 Match 41 Group B West Indies vs UAE; Last chance for WI to qualify for QFs:
Date: 15 March 2015 Time: 0330 IST
Venue: Napier
UAE
UAE was defeated by South Africa by 146 runs. UAE’s second tryst with World Cup cricket has been a journey of experience. They have found a great talent in Shaiman Anwar who was the leading run scorer in World Cup till Sri Lanka vs Scotland match. Apart from Anwar, they also have Amjad Javed, Swapnil Patil as players who can do wonderful thing if given proper exposure. Patil proved that he could be a talent that would fetch rewards if nurtured, when he made 50 against South Africa.
UAE might have a good chance here seeing that none of the West Indian bowlers is in any form and UAE if they apply themselves and play with enough grit and passion, might upset West Indies who are looking to qualify for the quarter finals since there are 2 spots open in group B.
UAE need to believe in themselves and apply themselves with determination to try and end their World Cup on a high.
West Indies
West Indies had a another nightmare against India in their previous match. India bowled them out for 182 runs with only Jason Holder making 56 and rest of them falling like 9 pins to bowling of Mohd. Shami, Umesh Yadav and R.Ashwin. Their batting failed against quality bowling and they would need something other than ordinary against UAE to win with a big margin and qualify for the QFs. It will all depend on how Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith and Denesh Ramdin perform against UAE spinners and fast bowlers to score something in excess of 350 if they bat first or bowl them out for as low as possible and chase that down in least amount of overs to win it.
West Indian bowling led by Kemar Roach and Jason Holder will need to be doubly effective against UAE because West Indies need a big win to remain in contention for QFs.
