Mohammad Amir‘s performances this year do not really justify his place in the side. They have only got worse by the day and hence was axed from the national team. Touted as one of the biggest weapons for the World Cup next year, his existence in the squad is under threat at the moment.

Amir had a pretty decent 2017 with the ball. He picked up 18 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 32 and economy just over five last year. His performance in the Champions Trophy final where he picked three wickets in six overs was great. However, the left-arm pacer seems to have lost the knack of picking wickets this year. In 2018, he has so far accounted for only three scalps in 10 matches with his average almost tripling up from last year. Amir really needs to fire at all guns and prove his worth if he is to make it to the final cut.
