World Cup 2019: Adam Zampa reprimanded for breaching The ICC Code of Conduct
The incident occurred at the end of the 29th over of the West Indies innings when Zampa was heard using an audible obscenity by the umpires.
Australian bowler Adam Zampa has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during Match 10 at The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 between Australia and West Indies. Zampa was found to have breached Article 2.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to using audible obscenities in an international match. In addition to the formal warning, one demerit point has been added to Zampa’s disciplinary record.

Zampa admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Chris Gaffaney, third umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge and fourth official S Ravi levelled the charges.
When a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, they are converted into suspension points and a player is banned. Two suspension points equate to a ban from one Test or two ODIs or two T20Is, whatever comes first for the player . Demerit Points to remain on a Player or Player Support Personnel’s disciplinary record for a period of twenty-four (24) months from their imposition following which they will be expunged
Australia snatch victory from Windies by just 15 runs
Coming to the game, Australia lost the toss and was put in to bat first, the Kangaroos were in the spot of bother when they were reduced to 79/5 in 16.1 overs. But, Steve Smith’s 68-run partnership with Alex Carey for the sixth wicket helped Australia to be in a respectable position. But, it was 102-run partnership with Coulter-nile that kept Australia in a dominating position. The Aussies posted a total of 288 runs in 49 overs.
West Indies started the chase by losing Lewis in the second over off Pat Cummins. Gayle followed the suit after Starc trapped him front when WI score read 31 runs. Shai Hope, Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder tried their best to take West Indies over the line but Mitchell Starc’s fifer propelled Aussies to a 15-run win.
