World Cup 2019: England Cricket shares emojis puzzle on Twitter for fans to guess the 15-man squad
The cricketers’ names were revealed through emojis, leaving the fans with the tricky task of making them out.
The euphoria is only getting intense as the 12th edition of the ICC World Cup is drawing closer. The upcoming tournament will be held in England and it will be the fifth time that the inventors of the game will host it on their soil. English cricket experts and supporters are even more ecstatic this time since their team is considered among the top favourites to lift the title, for the first time. The World Cup will kick off on May 30 with a game between the hosts and South Africa.
That the ambience is electric in England ahead of the showpiece event was understood once more when the England Cricket Twitter account made a funny post about the final 15 players picked for the squad. The cricketers’ names were revealed through emojis, leaving the fans with the tricky task of making them out. Some fans indeed came out successful the squad which is led by Eoin Morgan and could make history at Lord’s on July 14. The post, for instance, came up with two ‘bear’ emojis to mean Jonny Bairstow.
England made three changes to their final 15-man World Cup squad
England made three changes to the squad that they had chosen as a preliminary one and announced the final one on Tuesday, two days ahead of the deadline of making changes without permission. While James Vince replaced Alex Hales who failed the drug test, bowling sensation Jofra Archer replaced left-arm seamer David Willey and batsman-spinner Joe Denly gave way to in-form left-arm spinner-all-rounder Liam Dawson who was picked as a back up for Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid.
England recently crushed Pakistan 4-0 in a five-match ODI series, scoring more than 350 on an average, exhibiting once again the batting firepower they have got in this World Cup. In the bowling department, however, the hosts seemed to be making more adjustments with the replacements of Willey who have been a regular contributor to the side since the last World Cup.
