Indian captain, Virat Kohli has a serious passion for the sport he plays and loves every moment of it when he is on the field expressing himself, apart from that he is also an avid follower of football. He ardently follows all the action in the world of football and has garnered some friendships across sports as well. One of his friends is England’s ace footballer Harry Kane, and they had shared some pictures of their meeting on May 24.

This was the first time the two greats of their games met in person, despite having a very good relationship on social media platform Twitter.  The Tottenham Hotspurs footballer met Kohli at the Lord’s Cricket Ground before the start of the ICC World Cup 2019. Kane is an admirer of Virat Kohli’s batting and has several times has given compliments to him and the Indian reciprocated that as well on social media even before meeting in person.

Now that Kohli & Co. have made it into the semi-finals, along with defending champions Australia, hosts England and New Zealand; there is a big possibility that India may face England in semis or the final. This has meant that it has become a matter of loyalties for the two friends, which was seen in Harry Kane’s wishes to Kohli.

The footballer mentioned in the tweet that he had a brilliant time meeting Kohli at Lord’s and that he wished him all the best for the remainder of the World Cup except when India plays England. To this, Virat responded saying that he too had fun catching up with him and thanked for the wishes.

The Indian team has been playing wonderful cricket in the tournament and lost just one match, to host England in Birmingham. The hosts meanwhile defeated New Zealand along with the Men in Blue to make it into the knockouts edging out Pakistan. The last two league matches which will be played on July 5 will determine where Virat and his team and Morgan and co. end up on the points table.

If Australia lost to South Africa, India ends up on the top of the table, they will play New Zealand in Old Trafford, Manchester in the first semifinal, where they have a good record. In the other scenario, India will play England in the second semi-final at Edgbaston, Birmingham, where they were beaten by the hosts.
