After that Grant Elliot (39), Corey Anderson (39) and Daniel Vettori (16) contributed enough runs for New Zealand to touch base safely.
Shakib Al Hasan took 4/55 after opening the bowling. Nasir Hossain took 2/32 in 5 overs to try to stop New Zealand from winning. But they kept their record clean reaching 290/7 in 49th over.
