Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen is renowned for his flamboyant strokes, nonchalant batsmanship, match-defining or ever series-defining innings during his storied career. Apart from his exploits on the cricket field, Pieterson was also renowned for his bold, infamous comments and controversies including several run-ins with the English team management.
Pietersen’s penchant for bold comments has extended into his post-retirement life and the former English captain frequently gives a piece of his mind on issues pertaining to the game. The right-handed batsman is also actively involved in running a social media campaign against illegal poaching of rhinos.
Pietersen is actively involved on social media and on Saturday, the flamboyant English batsman posted a picture of himself engrossed in a plank workout– an isometric core strength exercise which involves maintaining a position similar to a push-up for the maximum possible duration– by the poolside in what looked like a pretty scenic background.
Pietersen tweeted that there should be “no rest days,” followed by a hashtag “#PlankWell.”

Kumar Sangakkara trolls Kevin Pietersen with a hilarious jibe
However, the former Sri Lankan captain and a former T20 World Cup-winner Kumar Sangakkara proceeded to troll Kevin Pieterson. Sanga took to Twitter and replied on Pieterson’s picture that the picture would have been even more beautiful, had Kevin Pietersen not been in it.
The left-handed batter teased Pietersen and said: “Would have been a beautiful pic without you in it @KP24,” to which the former England batsman replied: “Chairman! You not allowed to tweet like that!”

Pietersen, one of the greatest English cricketers to have ever played the beautiful game, had his fair share of controversies during his career. But, despite those infamous moments, the former champion batsman enthralled the cricketing folklore throughout his nine-year-old career.
Pietersen made his Test debut in the 2005 Ashes and instantly showed that he was one for the future when he displayed baptism with fire against the likes of Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne with an imperious 158 at the Oval; one that proceeded to help England escape with a draw and salvage a history-making Ashes win against the world champions.
Since his premature retirement in the immediate aftermath of the 2014 Ashes series, Pietersen continued to enthral the folklore in franchise-leagues before he finally hung his boots to become a pundit of the game.
