The BCCI, on Saturday, delayed the announcement of IPL 2020 schedule after multiple CSK members tested positive. It was reported that 13 members of the CSK have tested COVID-19 positive and one of them is their premier pacer Deepak Chahar.
The BCCI released a statement saying 13 personnel have contracted the virus and are under isolation at the moment. However, the board refrained from taking any names. The release also mentioned that two players are also COVID-19 positive and these two names are reportedly Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
As per the norms, members who’ve tested positive for novel coronavirus will have to undergo rounds of testing in the next few days, delaying CSK’s plans of kick-starting their IPL 2020 preparations. The members will only be allowed to join their teammates after testing negative for COVID-19 twice.

Deepak Chahar also received a plethora of wishes and recovery messages. Malti Chahar, Deepak’s sister, also reacted to the news and penned down a touching message for the pacer. he shared a pic of Deepak and also wrote a message for the CSK family.
“You are a true warrior, born to fight. Day is brighter after the darkest night. May you come out stronger than ever before. With love & prayers, waiting to see you roar. (To all csk family),” wrote Malti on her social media handles.
Considering the current COVID-19 situation in the CSK camp, the CSK players will now only be allowed to hit the field from September 1, given their players and officials test negative for coronavirus. To make things worse, CSK vice-captain Suresh Raina also pulled out of the tournament owing to personal reasons. According to reports, the left-hander was worried after seeing the current situation in the CSK camp.
While CSK will kick off the preparations for IPL 2020 next week, as many as six teams have flagged off their tournament preparations. The cash-rich league is slated to start from September 19th, with the final being locked on November 10th.
