‘You are not more disappointed than me’ – Hasan Ali shares heartfelt note amid criticism, vows to make stronger comeback
Hasan Ali’s dismal show is one of the major reasons behind Pakistan’s defeat.
Hasan Ali has been at the eye of the storm ever following Pakistan’s ouster in the T20 World Cup 2021. Having won their all five games in the league stage, the Men in Green looked all set to clinch the title but their journey ended with a five-wicket loss against Australia in the semi-final. Notably, Pakistan posted 174/4 while batting first in Dubai and Australia lost their Aaron Finch for a duck while chasing the target.
Hence, Pakistan’s win looked a mere certainty. However, David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, and Matthew Wade showcased some sensational hitting and the Aussies pulled off a jailbreak. Hasan Ali’s dismal show is one of the major reasons behind Pakistan’s defeat. While the pacer returned with figures of 0/44 in his quota of four overs, he dropped Wade’s catch to make things worse for himself.
I want to serve Pakistan cricket at the highest level possible: Hasan Ali
With Hasan’s poor outing costing Pakistan a place in the finals, the pacer has been receiving criticism from different corners. On Saturday (November 13), the right-arm pacer took to Twitter and met all the criticism head on. While Hasan expressed regret over the dropped catch, he vowed to make a stronger comeback.
“I know you all are upset because my performance didn’t meet your expectations … but [you] are not more disappointed than me. Don’t change your expectations from me. I want to serve [the] Pakistan cricket at the highest level possible, so back to hard work,” he added. This patch will make stronger,” the 27-year-old wrote in a post on Twitter.
“This patch will make me stronger so Alhumdulilah. Thank you for all the messages, tweets, posts, calls, and Duas – needed them,” he added.
Meanwhile, the star pacer endured a hard time throughout the tournament. As far as his numbers are concerned, Hasan took five wickets in six matches with his average and economy rate being 41.40 and nine respectively. His best figures were 2/44 against India. As far as the World Cup is concerned, Australia will now meet New Zealand in the final clash. The high-voltage game between the Trans-Tasman rivals takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (November 14).
